Bruised leg of a 71-year-old man. The haematoma (bruise) is on the patient's calf and has caused swelling of the patient's ankle. A haematoma is a localised collection of blood caused by bleeding from a ruptured blood vessel. Most haematomas disappear without treatment after several days.
