Shoulder fracture, coloured X-rays. The joint is seen from the side at left and from the front at right. The joint has not been dislocated by the fracture, which is below the head of the humerus (upper arm bone). The other two bones forming the shoulder are the scapula, or shoulder blade, with which the humerus articulates, and the clavicle, or collarbone, which runs above both.
