Foot wound. Puncture hole on the sole of a 17-year-old boy's foot, caused by treading on a nail. If the nail was rusting or dirty, this wound may lead to tetanus (muscle paralysis caused by spores from the bacterium Clostridium tetani) or septicaemia (bacterial blood poisoning). Tetanus can be fatal if the patient has not been vaccinated against it. Septicaemia can be treated with antibiotics.
Model release available. Property release not required.
