Dislocated elbow. Coloured lateral X-ray of an injury to the elbow (centre) showing that the upper arm bone (humerus, top right) is misaligned (dislocated, turquoise). The humerus is usually positioned at the end of the forearm (the radius and ulna, centre and left). Dislocation is often caused by a sudden impact to the joint and always causes some form of damage to the ligaments as a result.
