Scarred fingers. View of scarred fingers due to a crushing injury. There are teardrop shaped scars at the ends (proximal phalanges) of the two middle fingers (centre). The damaged tissue is thickened and red. The nails have also been damaged, with swollen scar tissue almost covering the two central nails. The little fingernail is blackened at the tip, this is probably due to bleeding under the nail. Slight scarring can be seen on the index and little fingers near the fingernails.
