Child with club feet (talipes), a congenital deformity in which the patient cannot stand with the sole of the foot flat on the ground. The defect can usually be corrected by orthopaedic splinting in the early months of infancy. Note also the partial fusion of two toes on the child's left foot and the absence of the small toe on both feet.
