Caption

Hallux valgus. View of twisted and deformed toes, a condition called hallux valgus. A bunion has formed on the outside edge of the foot (centre left) forcing the big toe to bend inwards. The second toe has twisted up and is growing over the top of the big toe and the other toes are bunched together. A blister, presumably formed by pressure from wearing a shoe, has formed on the second toe (centre). This condition is probably very painful and will not only require surgical removal of the bunion, but straightening of the affected toes as well.
