Caption

Lobstein's disease. Coloured frontal X-ray of deformed leg bones in a 16-year-old patient with Lobstein's disease (osteopsatyrosis). This is an inherited bone disorder where the bones are very brittle. The knee joints are at upper left and upper right. Both the lower leg bones (tibia and fibula) and the thigh bone (femur) are much thinner than normal, and are also malformed. There is also deformation of the periosteum, the dense membrane surrounding the bones.
