Passive smoking. A mother smokes a cigarette while reading with her young boy. The boy's health is at risk by breathing in cigarette smoke. Smoke from burning tobacco contains even more nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide than that inhaled by the smoker. Children whose parents smoke are more likely to develop bronchitis and asthma. They are also more likely to become smokers themselves.
