Tobacco cigarettes. These cigarettes contain dried parts from the tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum). They are designed to be lit at one end (lower right) and the smoke inhaled through a filter (orange) at the other end. Tobacco contains cancer-causing chemicals and the addictive drug nicotine. Tobacco smoking is a major cause of lung cancer and chronic bronchitis. These cigarettes are marked Lambert and Butler, a UK cigarette brand founded in 1834.
