Foxgloves flowers (Digitalis purpurea). This plant is native to Europe. It is poisonous due to the alkaloid digitalis present in its leaves. Ingestion can lead to vomiting, fatigue, hallucinations and, in extreme cases, death. Digitalis increases the ability of the heart muscle to contract, and foxglove preparations are used medically to stimulate the heart muscle in cases of heart failure.
