Normal electroencephalogram (EEG) pattern, a detail of the print-out from an 8-channel instrument. The EEG records electrical activity within the brain through a series of electrodes taped over the subject's head. The various traces refer to different regions of the brain. The EEG is used in diagnosing & monitoring the various disorders of the brain generally called epilespy - sudden, possibly severe, losses of brain function, which display characteristic signature pattens on an EEG trace.
