Small bowel enema. Radiologist inserting a tube into a patient's throat during a small bowel enema. The tube will be passed through the stomach and X-ray opaque barium released into the small intestine (small bowel). The small intestine can then be imaged by X-rays, allowing the detection or assessment of diseases or disorders.
