Endoscopy. Surgeon using an endoscope to take a tissue sample (biopsy) of a patient's suspected bladder tumour. An endoscope is a flexible instrument used for visual inspection of the inside of the body. A monitor allows the surgeon to see the view from the tip of the endoscope. By mounting instruments on the endoscope, a surgeon can carry out procedures which would otherwise require major surgery.
