Caption

Mallow flower (Malva sp.). Close-up of the centre of a mallow flower. There are many pollen grains (yellow), which have been produced by the stamen, the male reproductive part of the plant. Some insects, possibly pollinators are feeding on the pollen. Mallow flowers have medicinal properties. Preparations can be used to relieve coughing, and creams made with extracts of mallow soften the skin.
