Sight examination. Ophthalmologist performing an eye examination by using a slit-lamp microscope. This instrument, thanks to its brilliant illumination and lens magnification, allows meticulous examination of the congiuntiva, cornea, front chamber of the eye, iris and crystalline lens. For a full view of the crystalline lens and the structures behind it, the pupil is widely dilated by using eye-drops such as tropicamide.
