Eye examination. Man resting his head on a frame while the refractivity of his eyes is measured by a refractometer. Refraction is an optical property. Light is refracted (bent) when it passes through objects of different densities, such as when entering the eye. The refractivity of the eye determines how well it focuses light onto the retina. Glasses can be prescribed to correct any defect.
