Blood sample testing. Vials of blood being placed in a homogeniser before testing. Homogenising is a process used to break up cells to release the internal contents, such as DNA and cell enzymes, for analysis. A gentler homogenising process can also be used when intact cells are required. Photographed in June 2006, in Moscow, Russia.
