Man undergoing plasmapheresis, a method of removing a quantity of plasma from blood. A volume of blood is removed from the patient and the solid blood cells allowed to settle in a container. The fluid plasma is then drawn off the top of the mixture and the blood cells transfused back into the patient's circulation.
