Blood test sickness. Nurse comforting a woman who is feeling nauseous after a blood test. The nurse is holding a wad of cotton wool to the woman's arm where the blood test needle was inserted. After giving large amounts of blood, patients may feel faint due to their lowered oxygen-carrying capacity, but nausea after the removal of a small amount of blood is more likely to be a psychological phenomenon.
