Emergency blood delivery. Lights of an emergency blood-delivery vehicle. Blood is obtained from donors and stored until it is required. It is used to replace blood lost in an accident or during an operation. A patient losing large amounts of blood is in danger of dying, and emergency vehicles are used to rush blood supplies from a blood bank to the patient. The emergency vehicles are also used to transport rare types of blood, and organs for transplant operations, to the required location. Emergency vehicles use lights and sirens to clear traffic from their path and ensure short journey times. Photographed in London.
