This fibre-optics instrument allows the doctor a view along the external auditory meatus to the eardrum. Tinnitus, a persistent ringing or buzzing in the ears, is an extremely debilitating & distressing condition. Its causes are various & include wax in the ear passage, diseases of the inner ear such as otosclerosis & Meniere's Diseases, drugs such as aspirin & quinine & abnormalities of the auditory nerve.
