Caption

Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) stem and leaves. The fruit of this shrub is rich in vitamin C, though very acidic and astringent if eaten raw. Sea buckthorn is used in the treatment of a variety of internal and external complaints, including high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases, ulcers and skin problems.
