Robotic heart surgery. Robotic surgeon performing heart surgery. The robot is controlled remotely by a human surgeon, who follows the progress of the operation using cameras mounted on the robot's arms. The arms are very thin, allowing the surgery to be carried out through small incisions, without opening the chest cavity. Such keyhole (minimally-invasive) surgery speeds recovery and reduces post-operative pain.
