Skin sheet culture researcher using a light microscope to examine a skin sheet culture being grown in a petri dish. Sheets of skin are grown from skin cells taken from the patient (autografts) or an external source (allografts). These cultured skin sheets can then be used to treat conditions such as severe burns.
