Caption

Columbine flowers (Aquilegia vulgaris). This plant was formerly used in herbal medicine to treat sore throats. It is poisonous, and though the toxicity is destroyed through dying, it is not often used because of the risk of poisoning. Photographed at Dilston Physic Garden, Northumberland, UK.
