Dwarf elder with developing fruit (Sambucus ebulus). When cooked the fruit of this plant is used as a flavouring in soups. When eaten uncooked the fruit may contain a very small level of toxicity. The leaves are a diuretic and the herb is often used in the treatments of liver and kidney complaints.
