Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea). This plant contains alkaloids that are toxic to animals. Horses who graze on it by accident can be afflicted with irreversible cirrhosis of the liver. In large doses, ragwort can also be poisonous to humans. In the United Kingdom, ragwort is listed as an injurious weed under the weed act.
