Stinging nettles (Urtica dioica). This perennial plant is well know for the painful stinging hairs which cover the plants stem and leaves. Despite its sting, the stinging nettle can be eaten once cooked and is high in nutrients. Stinging nettles are also widely used in herbal medicine.
