Diflucan (Flucanazole) is used to treat fungal infections known as candidiasis. Candidiasis are infections caused by the yeast-like fungus Candida. Common examples are thrush, yeast infections, diaper rash, and fungal infections elsewhere in the body such as in urinary tract, peritonitis, pneumonias. Diflucan is also used to treat meningitis (brain and spinal cord) and is now being widely used for vaginal yeast infections and infection in kidney and liver transplants, and for AIDs patients.
