Dilaudid. Box containing a bottle of liquid Dilaudid HCl (hydromorphone hydrochloride) at a dose of 2mg per ml. Dilaudid is a narcotic (stupor inducing) and analgesic (painkilling) drug used to treat moderate to severe pain. It is an opiate (derived from opium) and is related to morphine, although it is approximately 8 times more potent on a milligram basis than morphine. Repeated use can lead to physical dependence.
