Zoloft (Sertraline hydrochloride) is also sold as Lustral, Apo-Sertral, Asentra, Gladem, Serlift, Stimuloton, Xydep, Serlain, and Concorz. It is an antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. In 2006 it was the most prescribed antidepressant on the U.S. retail market with 28,060,000 prescriptions. Sertraline is prescribed for the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), panic disorder (PD) and social phobia/social anxiety disorder.
