Light ray box emitting a wide beam of light. A ray box is a standard light source used in optics experiments. The bright ray is easily seen against the background of white paper, and covers and lenses can be used to produce parallel, convergent or divergent beams, as well as thin and thick beams. The beams can be traced on the paper, allowing optical phenomena such as reflection, refraction and diffraction to be investigated.
