Chemotherapy drip. Valve section of a drip being used to deliver cancer treatment drugs during a chemotherapy session. The solution enters the valve from top and 'drips' through to the thinner tube at bottom. This tube is placed in the patient's vein, allowing a slow, intravenous, delivery of drugs into the patient's bloodstream. The intention is to kill the cancer cells, but many chemotherapy drugs also have severe side- effects. Photographed on the chemotherapy ward at the Avicene Hospital, Paris, France.
