Art therapy. Three elderly women, attended by a therapist, sit at a table with crayons and coloured paper during an art therapy session. Occupational therapies, like art therapy, are intended to help rehabilitate people who have been disabled by physical illness or a serious accident. Patients are encouraged to undertake specific activities, based on their individual requirements, that will help them regain muscular control and cope better with everyday tasks. In some cases, the therapy might be designed to help the patient resume some form of employment.
