Spanish moss (Tillsandsia usenoides) hanging in the branches of a tree. This plant is an epiphyte, meaning that it grows on rocks or other plants for support, and obtains nutrients from the air and rain. It is not a moss, but is instead a flowering plant in the bromeliad family, Bromeliaceae. Photographed in the Guambi Ravine, Pichincha, Ecuador.
