Humira (Adalimumab), a biologic medication for the treatment of rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, autoimmune diseases. Humira is a human monoclonal antibody which targets excess tumor necrosis factor, a protein capable of destroying cancer cells, in the joint fluid. Overproduction of tumor necrosis factor causes inflammation, swelling, and pain. Humira was approved for use by the FDA in 2003.
