Ear drops. The liquid medicine in this bottle is dispensed into the ear using a dropper which is attached to the underside of the bottle's lid. Ear drops treat bacterial or viral infections of the outer canal, known as otitis externa. They serve to relieve earache or irritation in the ear canal, which may cause a discharge and a loss of hearing. Ear-drops can also be used to clear the ear canal of wax.
