Rosacea treatment. Female patient with inflamed skin on her nose, cheeks and chin following laser treatment for rosacea. Rosacea is a skin disorder characterised by chronic inflammation of the skin of the face. Thread veins may be particularly apparent, and the patient usually flushes easily, often in response to certain foods or other triggers, such as sunlight. Lasers are used to heat surface veins in the skin, which stimulates the body to absorb them. The energy of the laser also stimulates new collagen production to improve the support network in the skin and prevent the appearance of more thread veins.
