A woman luxuriating in a mud skin treatment. It is claimed that the use of warm mud, of a particular composition, cleans the skin. The heat is said to open the skin's pores whilst the mud itself 'draws out' any impurities from the skin. There may also be some therapeutic effect from the enforced period of relaxation the treatment engenders. Mud with fine texture and high mineral content is thought to be the most beneficial.
