Man being given an aromatherapy massage. In aromatherapy, fragrant herb & flower extracts, known as essential oils, are massaged into the skin. Alternatively, they may be inhaled or incorporated into creams or lotions. Very occasionally, they are taken internally. Different fragrances are used to alleviate different problems and symptoms. Massage calms, stimulates, relaxes tension and gives a general feeling of well-being. It is also said to help lymph drainage, relieve physical and mental ailments, and improve the circulation.
