Reflexology. A reflexologist massages the sole of a child's foot with her thumb. Reflexology (reflex zone therapy) is a form of alternative medicine in which the practitioner massages parts of the patient's feet in an attempt to cure disorders affecting other parts of the body. The technique is based on "zone theory", which divides the body into 10 theoretical meridians running from head to toe, each passing through various organs and ending in the toes, soles or sides of the feet.
