Different fragrances are used to alleviate different problems and symptoms. In addition, the oils may be inhaled or incorporated into creams or lotions. Very occasionally, they are taken internally. Aromatherapists claim that their technique may be used to treat a range of disorders, particularly psychosomatic and stress-related conditions.
