Bach remedies. View of Bach remedies used to treat illness seen amongst flowers. Bach remedies were developed by the English physician Edward Bach (1880-1936) who believed that all illnesses were due to physiological or psychological imbalances within the body. These could be treated using medicinal extracts of plants which he thought were released into spring water in sunlight. His 38 remedies were designed to treat the whole person and not just their symptoms. These remedies are used to treat (from right to left): general problems (rescue remedy); resignation and apathy (wild rose); nostalgia and homesickness (honeysu- ckle) and shock and grief (Star of Bethlehem).
