Bach remedies. View of four Bach remedies used to treat illness. Bach remedies were developed by the English physician Edward Bach (1880-1936) who believed that all illnesses were due to physiological or psychological imbalances within the body. These could be treated using medicinal extracts of plants which he thought were released into spring water in sunlight. The 38 remedies he created were designed to treat the whole person and not just their symptoms. The remedies seen here are used to treat (from right to left): resignation and apathy (wild rose); nostalgia and homesickness (honeysuckle); shock and grief (Star of Bethlehem) & general problems (rescue remedy).
