Neural therapy. A patient is injected with a local anaesthetic as part of neural therapy. This therapy is based on the theory that a "disturbance field" within the nervous system is the cause of chronic illness. The "disturbance field" is alleged to cause tissue damage and increase the risk of infections. An injection of local anaesthetic is used to "switch off the disturbance field" and therefore heal the patient. Photographed at the Centre for Integrated Medicine, Winterswyk, the Netherlands.
