Tibetan bells used in bell therapy, a form of alternative medicine. The mallets (lower right) have a wooden half and a cloth-covered half. The bells can be struck with the wooden half to produce a note, or the cloth-covered half can be run around the rim of the bell, which produces a resonant tone. The vibrations from the bells are said to be beneficial.
