Yew bark. Close-up of the bark of the yew tree (Taxus baccata). Bark protects the inner parts of the tree from damage. The yew is native to Europe, and is often planted as an ornamental tree or as a hedge. It is hardy and adaptable, and grows well even in polluted cities. All parts of the tree are poisonous.
