Black sally trunk. Close-up of the trunk of the black sally tree (Eucalyptus stellulata). The bark of this tree ranges in colour from light green through brown to greyish black, the older bark remaining at the base of the trunk and darkening with age. It also tends to peel, leaving patterns similar to that seen here. The black sally is a native of Australia, where it inhabits cold, wet areas in sub-alpine regions.
