Chiropractic. Chiropractor places both hands on the back of a male patient during adjustment of his mid-thoracic spine. In this way the chiropractor assesses vertebral alignment and can manipulate by hand any minor displacements (subluxations) of the spinal column and bones. A misaligned spine can affect spinal nerves causing discomfort and backache. The chiropractic technique analyses and treats the whole body, using mainly high velocity thrusts with a force of seven to fourteen pounds. It can also be applied to animals.
